Kim's Soft Whispers and Girls Night Out

My friend, Kim Broedelet, has this gorgeous new kit available today. I got a sneak peek and LOVE the very appealing color palette. It's got a year-round feel to it, I think, and appreciate the fact that it's not all pastels. She calls it a vintage romance type of kit, which I think suits it. She's got it in her store at DSO now, so check it out!

Today is the first day of a new workweek. For the first time in 27 years, I'm not going to be making the drive downtown to my job. I had to turn in my resignation on Thursday because I could not make the commitment to the new schedule they wanted to impose on me.

But somehow, I feel free, as scary as it is to be unemployed. The black cloud that was hovering over me is dissipating. My husband and I have been discussing alternatives, and although there are no quick fixes, it feels positive. My prayers continue for the future.

let us be grateful

so, how was your Christmas? mine was very quiet, just my husband and myself and our two westies. my husband had to do all the cooking but he enjoys it. i'm looking forward to our big family gathering on saturday.

my doctor's appointment wednesday with my surgeon went well; he continued to reiterate how badly my wrist was broken and that he had to piece together my palm back in place -- so i'm quite grateful for his skills! unfortunately, i can't go back to work yet which means another week without pay. it's been a tough year ..... 2009 will hopefully be better ... for everyone.

This next one, I did for myself. I've battled with low self-esteem issues my entire life -- and I needed this kick-in-the-pants today.

I've recently received a couple more awards. Please know (to those who nominated me) that I'm not ignoring your gift. Just very distracted with other things at the moment. And my computer time is still limited because my back is still giving me fits!
