cutie patootie

C-R-A-Z-Y morning so far!!! Preceded by a thunderous night. In fact, two claps of thunder were so HUGE that it felt like the house moved. NOT just shaken...MOVED.

Before I get too more involved in the day, I'm doing another "post-and-run." Hope you can use it!

July In the Wild

I recently took a photo safari, but it was more of an urban safari than anything you'd find on the plains of Africa. :) Nevertheless, I think I'll be able to use some of the pieces of the small kit I made for the DSO Color Challenge No. 1 for this month, supervised by KIMB. Hope you can use it, too! It's called July In the Wild.

Viva July

I've been busy this month with a multitude of things and haven't had much time to work on the Challenges at DSO, which is something I totally enjoy. Here's what I did for the 2nd color challenge (VIVA JULY) hosted by the divine Miss KimB. Hope you can use something in it. It's definitely not my best work.

love makes me strong

It's always a treat when a reader sends me a layout in which they've used a word art I've prepared. Chuchie sent this too cute layout recently:

Thanks, Chuchie!!!

once upon a dream

Have you seen the stunning new collaboration by KimB and her sister, Gaye (GS Creations)? TOOF FAIRY is a whimsical homage to the ethereal tooth fairy, but it's sooooooo much more; the combined talents of these extraordinarily gifted ladies is beyond words. You will LOVE it if you haven't already seen it. At the moment, it's still on sale at DSO.

Kim graciously gave me permission to use the kit's backgrounds to create some word art. It's designed to go with any of the pieces of the kit.

Here's a layout with my youngest niece (Anna, age 1) for which I used the TOOF FAIRY kit and today's freebie word art.

I hope you have had a chance by now to decide that you REALLY NEED the Wonderful Words 1 set of word art. There are 20 pieces (some of which are also prepared in white fonts and included in the set). It can be yours for a minimum donation of $2USD.

Thanks for stopping by today and making it through today's post. ;)

Hope your day is wonderful,

seize the moment

Life has a way of handing us exquisitely wonderful moments sometimes, even in the midst of crises, bedlam, or the chaos of an ordinary day. For example, recently, when three of my little great-nephews were visiting, I asked for a photo of them taken with me. [It's EXTREMELY rare that I ask for a photo of myself, but for some reason, it seemed important that afternoon.] They immediately swarmed over to me, surrounding me with their youthful exuberance. I SEIZED THE MOMENT and held it close to me when the youngest (3 years old) just came to me and laid his head next to my heart to face the camera, without any prompting. This morning I came across the photo when I was sorting through my digital pics and grasped that moment all over again. One day, when he's older, I'll tell him how much that moment meant to me.

Exquisite joy.

Hope your day is truly blessed,
Melanie

What a sweetheart!

Well, another HOTTTTTT day in Texas. Last week's cooler weather in England as we visited my husband's family is merely a memory, although we tried to bring a trunkload of it home!!! [Or should I say a "bootload"?!]

We had saved our pennies, and had a great trip, jam-packed with touring the country, plus a day spent in Wales. We knew it would be fun when we started the trip with a Carrie Underwood sighting at the airport. She was boarding our plane, and we were able to snap a couple of photos before she got on. I'll probably ramble on about our trip from time to time and bore you with a few pics, so I'll warn you now about that. ;)

I've pulled together a group of miscellaneous word art pieces I did, in hopes that you'd be interested in them for your scrapbooking or craft projects. Please consider requesting them through a minimum donation of $2.00US. Your patronage would be appreciated IMMENSELY. This is how I know that you'd like to see more word art and enables me to spend so much time on making the free stuff.

And here's today's freebie:

Someone who is a real "sweetheart" to me is Shirley (Xashee's Corner). She is a daily encouragement and so sweet, too ... what's more, I see her name pop up on multiple designer blogs as she leaves a kind word everywhere she goes. Today's word art is dedicated to her. Shirley, I'm sending you the Wonderful Words 1 set of word art that I'm promoting in today's post, so watch for it!

For everyone else, I hope your day is extraordinarily fine!

hello, again

I'm back in town and slowly getting back to work on the computer. Just a pop-in visit to thank you for the kind comments you've left in my absence.

Taking a shortcut today and leaving the word art on the blog. Just RIGHT-CLICK on the image to save it to your computer.

See you tomorrow!

one in a million

I can't be at my computer for the next week but will catch up on word art as soon as I can! In the meantime, hope you can use this one for the special people in your life.

all the best,

cuteness

Between feeling ill from a change in medicine and software log-on issues, I've been AWOL from my computer for the past few days. Sorry about that!
