For Coffee Lovers

Thanks for indulging my soapbox rambling yesterday. Patty, I appreciate your comments very much -- it made me feel great that someone actually read my posting, and that I wasn't alone in these concerns!

For those who expressed concern about the birds and their eggs, yes, they are completely safe from the dogs. We wouldn't have allowed them to finish their nest if there was any chance they'd be harmed. PROMISE!

I'm working without my lights on today, so that I can enjoy the stormy weather. It's like a movie sometimes, seeing all the lightning. Yesterday -- although it was very humid outdoors -- from the inside looking out, it almost looked like it was a dreary winter day. Didn't make me feel the humidity less, though!!

Over the next few days I'm in search of a more advanced digital camera. I think my SLR has bitten the dust, and I have a bridal portrait shoot next week, and a wedding photo shoot next month, so I guess I'm going to need to get a new one. I HATE when unexpected expenses come along because it's never at a good time financially. That seems to be the norm, though ... and just the way life goes for us lesser mortals. :)

Some People Just Oughta Come With a Warning Label

My mom is so dependent on caffeine that you can set your watch by it. Growing up with that, I vowed to never get that dependent on anything! Most of the time, I stick to it, but sometimes -- if I'm not paying attention -- I suddenly have a day full of caffeinated beverages. It's not so bad until you start coming down off of it. Whoooosh ... that's a killer!!

Caffeine, Revisited

They can't fool me. Just because daylight gets here sooner after the time change this past weekend, it's still MORNING. And chilly. Although I love the cooler weather, it's much cozier when you can start the day with something warm to drink.

Chilly + morning = COFFEE.

Now if only it would cure the "don't want to go to work blahs" that also accompany morning. Sigh. Okay, okay ... I'm deeply grateful to be employed, I just have to whine about the routine of it every now and then.

This One's for Mindy

I just have a moment this morning while sipping coffee and reading e-mails to upload a new word art for today. This one is dedicated to Mindy (Fresh Brewed Coffee) to welcome her back when she returns from vacation. Mindy has been an encourager to me from the beginning ... and it's easy to see what a devoted wife, mother, and coffee-drinker she is.

It's also been inspiring to watch her growth (online) in her talents as a designer. Like many designers, she's gifted us generously with freebies. And, now, we can also purchase her designs through these great shops: Dragon Flaire Studios and Polka Dot Potato.
