As I've shared in the past couple of years, times are extremely difficult for my husband and myself, financially.
There are some days, I forget to smile. But then, I get a call from my niece, who tells me something funny that one of her little boys did. Or my husband cracks one of his corny/funny jokes. Or I get a dozen lovely comments in my e-mail from a new blog friend (thanks, Deb!!) who just discovered my word art.
Or, while sorting through a box of things, I come across a letter written by my dad the summer before he died. Or Kate sends me another layout she prepared using my word art.
And then I remember all over again the healing power of a smile.
There are so many people in the world who are hurting because of losses, illnesses, financial challenges, and more...perhaps it is you, or someone you love. Share a smile with them today over a cup of coffee, or across a shopping cart...or looking in a mirror. You'll be so glad you did.
Blessings on your day,
Melanie

I think you just put everything into it's right perspective. There are so many simple things in our lives that make us smile that we need to remind ourselves of them when a tear appears.
Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in CBH Digital Scrapbooking Freebies, under the Alpha(s),Font(s), Word Art(s) post on Aug. 10, 2010. Thanks again.
Melanie, you just said a mouthful as my grandAunt used to say, many Blessings on you and your loved ones, thanks so much for always sharing your beautiful work

Thank you for your generosity!
so sori to hear about your troubles...but its heart-warming that you still have such a bright outlook! will pray for you and your family. thank you for sharing your talent so generously!
That saying is so applicable to my life right now too. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful word art and you wonderful talent.
This is so very true. One of my best friends and I "officially" got the news today that we already "knew" from a dear pastor friend. They are moving. It won't be officially announced until the 22nd and they will be gone on the 2nd of September. My heart is broken for the hurt that is to come here. And yet, at the same time, I am excited for the new challenge for he and his family at his new church and even that we will all get to see them the weekend they move because we will be in the area for a special event. So in spite of the tears we want to shed, we're choosing to smile.
Thank you for the lovely word art.
